Professor Dave has been a personal martial artist for over 32 years earning his 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as other martial arts. Professor Dave is actively coordinating BJJ sports tournaments and multiple local non-profit charity BJJ events. Professor Dave has competed in numerous local, state, and International tournaments both in the United States and Brazil.

Professor Dave Ogden is a 30 year veteran of law enforcement having risen to the ranks of Chief of Police. Professor Dave has utilized his martial arts experience to positively impact the lives of first responders by bringing thousands of professionals to the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle.

Professor Dave and his wife are members of Real Life Christian Church in Clermont and they believe that it’s our responsibility to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone around us. “Leadership is service to others, not your position, your title or the colored belt around your waist. It’s all of our responsibility to build great martial artist who are leaders in our community.”

Professor Bob Vandervoort

Shortly after Marcio Simas brought Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to Florida in 1995, Bob Vandervoort begain training as one of his first students. Over the next twenty years, Bob trained, sometimes sporadically, under Professor Simas and several of his black belts, including Professor Dave Ogden. During that time Bob assisted Professor Ogden with self defense seminars and with officer training at the Orange County Sheriff’s office.

In 2014, Bob was awarded his black belt under Professors Marcio Simas and Gutty Muggiati. He feels privileged to train with and instruct at Gracie Barra Clermont.
